The Tallest Natural Arch in the world Shiptons Arch

Haven made this research, I will be discussing with us all you need to know about the tallest natural arch in the world.Have you ever wonder where is the tallest natural arch located, it is referred to as the Shipton arch located in the western China region. 

The Arch got its name after the name of the English Mountaineer Eric Shipton who was the person that discovered the Arch. Soon after Eric discovered the arch while serving the British in Kashgar, he made various failed attempts to get to the arch from the south, on the long run but many times he was defeated by a maze of steep canyons and cliffs.

Years after its discovery, the arch was listed in the Guinness Book of records as the tallest natural arch, as soon as the editors of the book went to check its height, they were left speechless to know that the arch didn’t exist, due to that the listing was dropped.

Many years later, the National Geographic sponsored an expedition to rediscover the arch. They were able to discover the arch and climb to the top, but the editors of the Guinness book of record failed.

They find their way to the top to verify its measurements, it was about 1,500 feet (457.2 meters) high with a 1,200 foot which is about 267 meters. It’s about 2 hours drive from Kashgar to the arch.
