It is good news that telecom companies has also embedded 5G services, but will take a few years to get to all towns. Those who have access to it face problems, while the 5G seems faster. Just of recent 5G users have reported battery draining issues on android smartphones.
The users complain per experience that the 5G services drains battery life faster on the android phone. So if you’re facing this 5G battery draining problem, this particular post is for you.
Steps to Fix 5G Battery Drain on Android
Here are tested procedures to reduce 5G battery drain on Android.
Assuming your phone has a 5G mode, it will also have a dark mode, the Dark Mode is solely designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments. As well it is tested to save battery life. Dark Mode does not only reduce eye stress it as well reduces battery consumption rate, to be able to enable the dark mode, follow these procedures below.
1. Firstly, tap on the settings on your android, once done, on the settings menu tap on Display & Brightness option.
2. Then turn on the Dark mode.
These method is what you can use to turn on dark mode on your Android smartphones so as to reduce battery consumption rate.

2. Reducing your Screen Refresh Rate
It’s worthy of note that screen refresh rate can impact your phones battery life. For neater animations, a high refresh rate is needed, but it can as well drain your battery life fast. If you want to reduce the battery drainage, you can be able to switch to a standard refresh rate of 60Hz.
1. Just pull down the notification shutter on Android and tap on the settings gear icon. As soon as the settings Application opens, tap on Display and Brightness.
2. Now scroll down and tap Screen refresh rate, then select Standard afterwards. Now you’re there, this will switch to the standard refresh rate of 60Hz to preserve battery life.
3. Enable Adaptive Battery feature
Smartphones have a feature that reduces battery drain while using 5G. The feature is called Adaptive Battery, and this must be done manually from the settings. Below is how yo can do that;
a. Open the settings application on your Android smartphones.
b. Select Battery, then tap on Adpative Preferences.
c. on the Adaptive Preferences, turn on the toggle for Adaptive battery. Also know that it might appear on your phone with a different name. You must check out the battery settings to find the feature that extends battery life based on your phone usage.
4. Disabling the location Services
If you don’t travel often, you have to always disable your location service. Applications like Maps and weather requires location access to give you accurate information. Bit if you don’t usually make use of this applications, I will advice you keep your location service disabled. Do the following to disable the location services, to be able to do this, follow the steps blow;
a. Open the settings application and tap on Location.
b. On the next screen, turn off the toggle for Location.
Most android smartphones has the Auto 5G feature which changes your phones network mode from 5G to your 4G to save battery life. Your phone will switch from 5G to 4G connectivity when the battery level reduces.
a. Tap to open the settings app and tap on the Mobile network. Select your SIM with 5G services enabled on the mobile network.
b. Now, tap on More settings, and then toggle on the Smart 5G option on the next screen.
This my not solve the solution of preserving your battery life, but still seems helpful to an extent. Also in a situation where you want your phone to last longer, you can turn of the 5G and connect to 4G network. It will help boost your phone to have more hours of battery life before your phone goes off. Follow these steps to be able to do that.
a. Open the settings and tap on the Mobile Network, now choose your 5G SIM card on the Mobile Network.
